    • On April 3, 2011 Ai Weiwei was arrested at the Beijing Airport. While in custody, his studio was raided, his electronic material confiscated, and his collaborators and family taken for interrogation. As of today, it is unclear when and in what terms will Ai Weiwei be released, and his whereabouts remain unknown. In Weiwei's work, power and action depend as much on the circulation of objects as they depend on the free circulation of words. Preventing that circulation from growing into stasis is to prevent his words and his art from becoming inaudible.
    • “I’m absolutely disgusted,” Jeanine Kenworthy, 77, of Kerrville, Tex., said of the situation as she snacked at the National Museum of American History. “Furious.”

    • The DC Circulator, the city bus system, would continue to run, according to Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) and his administration.
